I visited San Martín on a sunny summer morning to enjoy the calm waves and low tides. As I strolled along the beach, I stumbled upon Almenada Beach and was immediately captivated by its beauty. I then ventured to the neighboring Cove, where I spent half an hour in awe of the crystal-clear warm water, yachts, peaceful atmosphere, and soft sandy shores. It felt like I was transported to Menorca. I would have happily stayed in the Cove all day, but had to leave as the high tide was approaching. I made my way back along the rocks, noting that the beach can be submerged during high tide. Despite this drawback, I highly recommend visiting the Cove, even if it means getting a bit wet or navigating through the rocks. It's a worthwhile experience whether you're alone or with company. To access the Cove, head down the San Martín stairs and turn right. If you plan to bring dogs, be cautious to avoid fines and ensure their safety. It's important to exercise caution at San Martín as the beach and its subbeaches are open and the waters can be unpredictable. I look forward to returning to La Cala and exploring more of San Martín's beautiful beaches in the future.
The beach offers stunning views, especially during clear weather when you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets.
The beach is stunning and easily accessible from Poo de Llanes or Celorio via a simple path. However, it lacks amenities such as lifeguards, toilets, bars, and parking. Despite this, it's definitely worth the trek.
The walk from Llanes along the coastal path to San Martín beach is definitely worth it.
Lovely beach, can only be reached by a 15-20 minute walk.
