We had a wonderful week at The Fish Cellars, the English weather was glorious and although the weather cannot be guaranteed a comfortable stay certainly can. We had 4 children and dogs and never once felt crowded. The basement was great for children/teenagers to hang out, with plenty to amuse them and the added bonus of us not being disturbed by their late arrivals home due to the basement door. The kitchen was well appointed, plenty of everything which was a blessing not found in a lot of lets. The wonderful unpacking of a groceries order was heaven! All in place when we arrived so no immediate shopping and famished teens satisfied. Lovely spacious seating area with hundreds of DVDs and games and big dining table we could all comfortably sit around. The balcony was lovely, we could have been abroad looking out over the courtyard to the sea, the children mainly occupied the wonderful hot tub, which is very deep but a perfect addition. Breakfast on the balcony was a joy. We had seen comments that the house could be warm but we found with opening doors to the courtyard and bedrooms and windows in the morning and letting the cool breeze in and then shutting all the blinds in the day and opening everything up on our return was perfect, we were there in the heatwave week! There are also fans in all the bedrooms so the air can circulate well. You are perfectly close to two beaches, the right hand one as you face the sea has an almost lagoon quality and would be great with small children and paddle boarding was a lot easier within it. Swimming dogs loved it too without the waves. Great dog walks along the coastal path and they also loved Tregantle beach, near the old fort, which is golden sand, steep path up and down so maybe tiring with small children and beach paraphernalia. We had a truly lovely week and Yvonne was extremely helpful if needed. Will definitely be back.
We have just returned from a glorious week at The Fish Cellars. This is a beautiful property set over 3 floors with a lot of attention to detail. My grandchildren all loved the games room and also the bubble lights in the bunk bed room. There is a well equipped kitchen and very comfy beds. The view from the balcony/hot tub is wonderful and this is one of the best places we have stayed situated in a nice quiet part of Cornwall. The beach was a 5 minute walk and the children all loved the rock pools and fishing/crabbing from the little harbour wall. Would definitely stay again and happily recommend
4 The Fish Cellars is without doubt the best place we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in lots of holiday cottages over the years! The attention to detail, decor and comfort was amazing. We were lucky enough to be the first holiday makers to have use of the hot tub, you could have been in The Mediterranean with the view out to sea. Plenty of relaxation for the adults and hours of fun for the kids rock-pooling at the beach which is a 1 minute walk away. Communication with the owner was excellent. We can't wait to visit again.
We enjoyed a lovely week's stay in December 2020. This holiday home is part of a series of sympathetically converted stone fish cellars. The owner had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable with thoughtful touches in all rooms. There was excellent communication ahead of time, and a very detailed guest book with all the information we needed. We felt very reassured by the Covid-secure measures taken. We enjoyed the views out to the sea, especially from the hot tub on the balcony! We will be back!
Lovely place completely relaxed . The accommodation had everything that you needed and it was all very clean. A nice welcome bottle of prosecco and treats for the dogs. Loved it will go back A short walk to the beach and plenty of paths to walk on.
