The beach is bustling with activity during the day, with sandy shores and quickly deepening waters. The sunset views are sensational, especially when I was there during a full moon. It was amazing to see the sunset on one side and the full moon on the other. At night, it was fun to chase after the cute crabs on the beach.
The beach is stunning, but it's a shame that it's overcrowded with hotels and resorts. There are a lot of children asking for money in a very pushy manner, which is not typical of the rest of the island. One teenage boy even suggested we give him money in our hotel room while we were in the water! 😂 Additionally, there are many people, including Masai, trying to sell things or stop you on the beach. I visited the beach 14 years ago and it was nearly deserted, but I suppose that's just the evolution of tourism.
The beach in Kendea is absolutely fantastic! The white sands and turquoise water make for a perfect swimming experience. Don't forget your sunglasses though, as the sun reflecting off the sand can be quite bright. There are a few places to grab a bite to eat or drink, but some only serve food after 12:30pm.
The beach has the most incredible sunset I've seen in a while. I got there in the evening and missed the full moon, but caught a glimpse of it on my way there. It was a shame I couldn't take a picture since I wasn't sitting by the bus window. Regardless, it was absolutely stunning. If you're looking for a sunset cruise, this is the place to book. You won't be disappointed.
This beach is definitely the best place to catch a sunset! We visited one evening while staying on the opposite side of the island, where the sunset isn't visible. It was a great experience watching the sunset from the beach, with locals performing dances for us. The beach offers a variety of activities, shops, restaurants, and bars that are lacking in other parts of the island.
